Jinxi Steel Group announced on its website that Foshan Jinxi Jinlan Cold Rolled Steel Sheets Co. 0.1 million tons silicon steel production line went into operation recent days. This line is mainly to produce the non-oriented silicon steel that to be applied in electromotor, generator and other mechanical and electrical products.
Considering the strong domestic demand for non-oriented silicon steel and short supply in South China, Jinxi Jinlan invested to build a non-oriented silicon steel line in March, 2011. This line had heat run at the end of December, 2011, and began the trial production in this January.
According statistics, domestic CR silicon steel capacity is exceeding 10 million tons, and there will be another 0.5 million tons CR silicon steel line go into operation in 1-2 years.
